About GEONARY
A world worth getting to know.
GEONARY brings together interactive maps, country profiles and playful quizzes to help you understand the world we share. Follow a question across the globe, discover what makes a place distinctive, and put your knowledge to the test.
Our mission is to make learning about the world something people choose to return to. A map can spark a question. A surprising comparison can change your perspective. Even an answer you get wrong can give you a reason to look closer.
Follow your curiosity
Start with a country you know, or one you have barely heard of. Explore its landscape, learn about its people and economy, and see how it compares with other places. Move between the globe, the map and country profiles to connect individual facts with a wider picture.
There is room for a quick discovery and a longer exploration. You choose where to begin.
Turn discovery into a habit
Recognise a flag, identify a landmark, locate a country or test your intuition about country data. Quizzes reveal the answers and their context, giving you something to take away from every round.
Daily Five and Country of the Day offer a reason to return. With an account, you can save your progress, work towards new ranks, earn badges and collect passport stamps through Country of the Day. Take your time: speed does not determine your score.
Know where the knowledge comes from
GEONARY draws on named sources, including the World Bank, UNDP and the World Health Organization. Country figures retain their sources and reporting periods, so you can see what a number describes and when it was measured.
We want you to be able to follow a discovery back to its evidence.
